Making Your Life Easier - Favorite Mobile Apps

Mon, Nov 5 2012 9:00 am

The old flip phones are now a thing of the past, with most parents having an Android or iPhone. And with that, we can access all kinds of useful help. Below is a list of some apps for Moms (and Dads too of course) with links to easily download them to your phone.

Child Page: This app allows you to record photos, quotes, milestones, and special moments as they happen (and before you forget!). You can set it as privately as you’d like or can share instantly with your family and friends through email, Facebook, and Twitter. Everything is archived at Circle of Moms.

Baby Care: This app allows you to track all of the things your baby is doing: eating, sleeping, pooping, bathing, vaccinating, and more. You can record your baby’s weight and height and track with the percentile chart. You can track multiple babies and even share with anyone via email, Facebook, or Twitter.

WebMD Baby: This app allows you to access hundreds of articles developed by WebMD doctors to answer your baby related questions. Features include growth tracker, diaper tracker, sleep tracker, feeding tracker, baby book, and searchable content.

OvuView: This app allows you to track and predict your period, ovulation, and fertility. It can help you try to conceive, try not to, or help track menstrual symptoms. You can custom choose which symptoms to track and whether to display them as a calendar, chart, or wheel.

50,000 Baby Names: This app allows you to browse through lists of names organized by many different categories. There are many search and filter options, as well as lists. You can view the origin, meaning, popularity, and more.

RedLaser Barcode Scanner: This app allows you to shop smarter and more efficiently by searching through hundreds of thousands of retailers for the lowest prices. Just scan the barcode while you are out shopping and quickly know whether you are getting the best deal.

Grocery iQ: This app allows you to add items to your grocery cart, and to share that list with multiple users. Items are sorted into categories, favorites are remembered, and coupons are offered. Some features include auto-suggest, barcode scanning, organize items by aisle, print or email coupons, and list emailing.

Recipe Search: This app allows you to type ingredients you have in your fridge and get recipes that incorporate them. You can also search specific dietary needs, read recipe reviews, and get cooking tips and tricks in the forums.

Yoga Workout Planner: The app allows you to practice yoga anytime and anywhere. Each position is demonstrated in animation with detailed instructions, voice narration, and background music. You can choose 15 or 30 minute sessions.

The Weather Channel: This app allows you to quickly check the weather. You can check the weather right now, hourly, extended, and in any city. You can search by city, ZIP code, address, or landmark, or even use the find me function to get weather reports where you are. It makes planning clothing for the day so much easier.

What apps do you have and use on a regular basis?
