Should he transition to size small even if he doesn’t meet the weight recommendation?: It is okay for your baby to continue using the newborn size if their toes touch the bottom of the swaddle – as long as they’re able to sleep with their legs in a froggy position. It’s also okay for you to move them to a small so long as the swaddle fits snuggly around their arms and chest. If there is excess material, consider waiting until they’ve gained some weight for a better fit.
