What is the HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric with IntelliThread™ Technology?

The HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric with IntelliThread™ Technology is a new style of SleepSack® swaddle from HALO® that absorbs, stores, and releases heat to ensure baby is safe and comfortable during sleep. Its temperature regulating fabric absorbs heat when baby is too warm and releases when too cool to decrease temperature spikes and help prevent overheating. The HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric features the HALO® signature 3-way adjustable design to fit baby’s sleep style: arms in, hands-to-face, or one or both arms out. It includes the HALO® signature Back is Best embroidery, a gentle reminder to place baby on his or her back, the recommended sleep position by the American Academy of Pediatrics. It also features an inverted zipper for easy diaper changes, scratch-free zipper covers, and its roomy design is recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as promoting healthy hip development. How does IntelliThread™ Technology work?

IntelliThread™ Technology is temperature-regulating technology that absorbs, stores, and releases heat to ensure baby is safe and comfortable during sleep. IntelliThread™ fibers embedded into the HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric absorb heat when baby is too warm and releases heat when too cool to decrease temperature spikes, and help prevent overheating. IntelliThread™ Technology is not a coating, and will not wash out or fade over time.

How is the HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric with IntelliThread™ Technology different than other HALO® swaddles?

All HALO® SleepSack® swaddles offer the same high quality, and are created to help make safe sleep easy for babies and caregivers. The primary difference of the SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric is its fabrication. What should baby wear underneath the HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric with IntelliThread™ Technology?

The SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric is recommended for use over regular sleepwear. It should be appropriately sized, snug, positioned around the baby's torso, and securely fastened.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends infants should be dressed appropriately for the environment, with no greater than one layer more than an adult would wear to be comfortable in that environment. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the use of wearable blankets to keep your baby warm.

Made from an extra soft and cozy blend of polyester and rayon, the IntelliThread™ fibers are embedded within the fabric of the new HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric, which alleviates spikes in the baby’s temperature to help reduce the risk of overheating, and also helping to warm baby up when they are too cool.

How do you care for the HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric with IntelliThread™ Technology?

The SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric is machine-washable and easy to care for, and the IntelliThread™ Technology never washes out or fades. Turn the swaddle inside out and close the zipper and fastener strips before washing. We recommend machine washing on cold with like colors on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean.

Has the HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric with IntelliThread™ Technology undergone consumer safety testing?

What is the optimal room temperature for a baby when sleeping?

An ideal baby room temperature is between 68° and 72°F (20° to 22.2°C), however as all households set their thermostats to meet personal preference, our SleepSack® TOG chart offers guidance for which SleepSack® styles are best for room temperatures ranging from 61° to 80°F. Talk to your pediatrician if you have concerns about your baby sleeping too hot or too cold. All HALO® SleepSack® wearable blankets and swaddles are suitable for a wide range of temperatures by adjusting the clothing worn underneath it.

What does TOG mean on the HALO® SleepSack® product packaging?

TOG is a unit of measure of thermal insulation used in the textile trade. A "TOG" value is the international standard measurement of a blanket's thermal effectiveness (how well it keeps baby warm). Do the other HALO® SleepSack® and swaddle products keep babies at an optimal temperature even if they don't have IntelliThread™ technology?

The HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric with IntelliThread™ Technology is the only product that utilizes a dynamic technology that absorbs, stores and releases heat to baby. All other HALO® SleepSack® wearable blankets and swaddles are still suitable for a wide range of temperatures by adjusting the clothing worn underneath it. Babies can wear anything underneath, from just a diaper to a long sleeve bodysuit or a cotton coverall. The SleepSack®  swaddle Tech Fabric complements our existing HALO® Swaddle assortment, which are offered in four fabrics, including muslin, cotton, fleece, and velboa. How do I know if my baby is too cold or hot during sleep?

Talk to your pediatrician if you have concerns about your baby feeling too hot or too cold while sleeping. Signs that your baby is too warm may include flushing, sweating, or breathing heavily. If you alter the temperature in your house at night, check on your baby to make sure they’re comfortable. Gently touching the back of the baby's head or belly to feel if they’re too warm or cool can help you assess their body temperature.

Are there any safety reminders when using the HALO® SleepSack® swaddle Tech Fabric with IntelliThread™ Technology?

To reduce risk of fabric accidentally covering the baby's mouth or nose, the swaddle must be appropriately sized, snug, positioned around the baby's torso and securely fastened. Always place your baby on their back for sleep. And never place anything in the crib with your baby. No pillows, bumpers, toys or loose blankets. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the use of wearable blankets to keep your baby warm. Reminder to discontinue swaddling when baby shows signs of rolling over, or shows signs of breaking out of the swaddle. Consider using the HALO® easy transition wearable blanket or HALO® SleepSack®.
